November 2008

NVQ level 1 Horse Care training

Mondays – 11.00am – 12.30pm & 7.30pm – 9.00pm
Wednesdays – 10.00am – 11.30am
Saturdays -  3.30pm – 5.00pm

One  hour ride and a half hour stable management lecture £32.00 per session /£145 for 5 weeks.

Pony Days throughout the school holidays on Mondays to Fridays

SATURDAYS – 8AM-5PM OR TIMES TO SUIT

Come and have some practical time with the horses, helping out on the yards – ideal for NVQ practice, or just practical time with the horses – please let the yard know in advance if you are coming, and what times you plan to be here

Mini Kids Club / Tiny Tots Pony Grooming and Plaiting – Supervised hour of beautifying the ponies for the younger riders.  £10

Kids Club / Pony Club competition – Combined training.  Jump a small course and then a riding test (walk and trot) - £25

Practical Hands On Session Get some practical experience with the horses – Perfect for NVQ level 1 practice (NVQ ride and lecture included in day)

2pm – 4pm

***NEW***  What should it look like when I ride?
This is an un-mounted course with an opportunity to watch footage of riders including Tina Layton competing and training.  There will be discussion on what the judges would have said and what they are looking for.  An interesting course for all, especially those who are looking to compete. Preparation for the open dressage competition next week.  £20

Clipping Afternoon - Learn about why and how we clip the horses’ coats.  Plus a chance to have a go! £20

Stephen Clarke at the TTT Guildford Great Britain’s foremost FEI International Dressage Judge, he has presided over two World Cup Finals, three European Championships, The World Equestrian Games in Jerez and The Olympic Games in Athens. He has trained many Grand Prix horses and he himself competed successfully Internationally in the ‘80’s and ‘90’s. Tina will be training with him, and you can see her for tickets to spectate.

John Bowen Dressage Clinic – see Tina to book.  International trainer John will be working riders and horses of all levels in order to achieve a correct way of going.  £POA

Sunday 30

Talking to your horse – A theory / observational 2 hour session looking at the horse’s ways of communicating with you from his body language and how you interact with him. £20

 

Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings - 11am-1pm - NVQ, ABRS and BHS stages training - Ride and Lecture

Do you know that we run part-time courses for anyone over the age of 16 to work towards an NVQ Equine Qualification. Monday evenings and mid-week sessions (11am - 2pm) Times can be flexible to suit school drop-off/pick up

Mondays -10am – Improvers group lesson – for riders who have never been in a group lesson before, and who would like to push themselves out of their ‘comfort zone’. This is with Maddy who will guide you through how to ride saely and confidently in a group situation – want to know more? Speak to Maddy

Wednesdays – 10am – Mums and Grans group lesson followed by coffee and a chat

 

 

EVENING CLASSES

 Adult evening class schedule.

Monday nights 7.30-9pm will be an NVQ 1/BHS stage 1 training night with Kirstie, to include a lesson and stable management lecture, this will enable you to achieve an equine qualification.

Tuesdays 7-8pm Tina will be taking a Dressage lesson to music - continuing the DSBS theme, with a programme, but using background music to help with rhythm and relaxation!!

Wednesday will continue with Sarah as an Intermediate/Advanced flatwork lesson 7-8pm working on position, feel and effectiveness.

Thursday nights with Amy 7.15-8.15pm  are aimed at the ambitious pleasure rider, wanting to improve their riding - we are thinking that on Thursdays after the lesson we might meet up at a local pub for a glass of wine, in order to expand the social aspect of our 'Club Night'.

Pony Club Sessions

Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 1hr ride and 1/2hr stable management lecture - see an instructor to see which day/time would suit your child's standard of riding

PONY DAYS ALL WEEK DAYS OF SCHOOL HOLIDAYS See a Member of Staff for availability Pony Days and 'Own a Pony' weeks throughout school holidays - including 'Own a Pony' week with Show Jumping instruction (for experienced children), - Tiny Tots half day, and Novice Childrens Week for the less experienced.
