Advanced School Horses

Contessa Riding Centre boasts 40 horses of various sizes, abilities, colours and temperaments! We really do have a mount for everyone – whether you want to learn Advanced dressage movements or master walk and halt. Use the tabs above to explore our horses.


	Purinos KWPN by Purioso, Puro was imported from Holland at nine-months-old.
	San Real KWPN by Wolfgang, Real came to Contessa as a foal. He is an active, responsive ride and performs well both in dressage and over fences.
	Jayanti Jaya is a Bavarian warmblood by Goldstern B who came to Contessa as a weanling. She is a sensitive mare and trained to Elementary level. She has a scopey jump and enjoys jumping.
	Krystal Krystal came to Contessa from Holland as a six-year-old with her foal, San Real, at foot. She was broken in and then had another foal, Tarra, two years later. She is trained to Medium level.
	Radetzky Detzky is a Danish warmblood gelding. Senior staff member Dawn successfully competed him at Novice level, where he gained BD points. Detzky has stablished flying changes and is used for the ABRS ATD.
	Romy A Belgian warmblood by Ramiro, Romy (or Russian Roulette) was a show jumper before coming to Contessa. He is trained to Medium level and is working on his flying changes.
	Luke Luke came to Contessa in 2004. He is well educated with BD points at Elementary level. He has proven himself to be a real schoolmaster, introducing many riders to lateral work.
	Benisa Benisa, or Barefoot Contessa, was bred here out of Tristesse, a lovely TB mare. She is by a Hanovarian stallion. She is a lovely horse to learn about feel and contact with.
	Zeus Born at Contessa, Zeus was the second foal of Marietta. He is a sensitive chap and loves his brother, Yves, dearly – nearly as much as he loves Elizabeth, a client who is devoted to him!
