Sarah Ganney BHSIT, ISM, AI

Sarah came to Contessa in 1995 to train for her BHSAI on a year's placement, she then went to Leeds University to read History and Philosophy, finished her degree then came back, and has been here ever since! She now holds the position of Deputy Head Girl.

Her qualifications include BHS Intermediate Teaching and Stage IV care and NVQ A1 assessor. In 2006 she was named ABRS Golden Spur Award winner for the Best Riding Schools Instructor.

As a child Sarah was a member of the Enfield Chase Hunt Pony Club, and took part in activities with her pony Gemma and first horse Rocky - a slightly unhinged(!) TBx who gave her a love for show jumping. From the age of 13 she began competing in BSJA competitions. In 2001 she qualified for the British Novice finals with her horse Nextcall Endeavour. He was a horse of a lifetime, but Sarah sadly lost him to colic in May 2002. Sarah currently has two horses - Josh, a lovely IDx gelding, and Ciara, a mare by Jumbo. Working at Contessa, Sarah developed a love for dressage, in particular the advanced movements. She has a particular favourite in Deskant, a horse who has taught her so much, and whom she can't pass without giving him a polo! She has also competed Regitse to Medium level, and is now working with Puro.
