The Contessa Riding Centre was founded in 1977 by Tina Layton and her parents with just one horse. It has now grown into an Internationally renowned riding school, training and holiday centre.

Although large, Contessa is still very much a family run business, popular with both customers and staff, many of which have worked here for years. For example, Head Girl, Dawn Elliott who started here as a YTS student.

The majority of the school horses are home bred and trained under the watchful eye of the proprietor Tina Layton.

Contessa holds regular clinics with international Olympic trainer John Bowen, and John Adams - Show Jumping trainer
